Persuasion Within The Pink Bubble

By: Kenrick Cleveland

"It is the pervading law of all things organic and inorganic, Of all things physical and metaphysical, Of all things human and all things super-human, Of all true manifestations of the head, Of the heart, of the soul, That the life is recognizable in its expression, That form ever follows function. This is the law." ~Louis Sullivan

Louis Sullivan, the designer and architect of the modern skyscraper, understood that form follows function. He was responsible for creating the modern cityscape and accomplished things that hadn't ever been attempted before.

If you're a salesperson, it may be that the function you are trying to accomplish is to persuade affluent prospects to buy your products or services.

We can fall back to Sullivan's credo and understand that we can design a form that will go along with whatever function we require.

By building models of persuasion you will find you get amazing results affecting other people.

With the process of rapport and criteria elicitation, we are building models of the person who we are persuading so that we can become them, in a sense.

Here are some more far out models which will make persuasion even more effective with your affluent prospects.

Like trying on someone else's skin, these all can be explained quite simply as ways of asking your unconscious mind to do something very powerful on your behalf.

By assuming and presupposing that you can do this, your other than conscious believes that you CAN. It understands, and it takes its orders and engages the necessary behavior to fulfill the wish. Now all we have to do is set up 'the bubble'. This concept comes from metaphysical literature and is an effective tool in relation to rapport, whether you buy into metaphysics or not.

To gain this rapport, you simply need to imagine a pink bubble around you and your prospect. Sounds easy, doesn't it?

The color of the bubble matters - I'm not quite sure why, but it does. So we'll just take what works and use either a pink or gold bubble.

As I step, I throw a lasso around you, and now you're encased in a bubble. Right when I step, I do this. As I step, I also enter the bubble.

I understand that you're reading this thinking, 'This is crazy. What the hell is this guy talking about?'

Believe me, there IS a point to all of this... The point is to link us energetically, to link what the two of us are doing.

Putting aside the cynicism for just a moment, what if this does work? It's easy to do. It's not hurting anyone. And it can only work to your advantage. So you've got yourself inside a bubble with your prospect and your energy is combined in this bubble and . . . well, what if it has a huge powerful effect?

This form--the pink bubble--accomplishes the function--rapport--which leads to persuasion.

Let's say that I want to encircle many, like the whole room. I can drop the bubble over all of us, and then I can step out of it.

What do you think the impact of that is?

I'm not really trying to influence you very much, except wanting to have a lot of rapport amongst all of us.

Just give the pink bubble a try. You might just see that it gives you higher and higher levels of persuasive ability with your affluent prospects and clients.
