Ode to Vibration

By: Kenrick Cleveland

"We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world." ~Buddha

This is a technique I use all the time in persuasion and in sales. It might seem a little esoteric or feel strange, but I ask you to put that aside and allow your other than conscious to take over for a moment.

Hypothetically, imagine that all things in the universe vibrate. Everything. Imagine your prospect vibrating. What is the speed at which they are vibrating? What is the speed at which you are vibrating? Mesh those two, so you vibrate at their speed. That's pacing.

Once the two vibrations are combined, you can then move them up or down, vibrating faster or slower, wherever you want them. This is 'leading'.

Is this all in your head? Sure. But does that mean it's not really happening? No. Not really. It IS happening in your head at least. You are, in all likelihood, not actually going to feel it, so just build a model of it in your mind. And adjust it at will.

A good way to do this is to look at the whole person as the vibration, then pay attention to anything rhythmical they are doing. Are they swaying? Are they moving something rhythmically? Tapping a pen, shaking their leg?

Here are a few things you can pay attention to make the rhythm more easily understandable. . .

Pay attention to how they're breathing. Is it located high in their chest, or low in their belly?

All you have to do is be open to the idea that can sense this and use it to influence.

If I were to say to you, 'Close your eyes and take a deep breath', your rhythm would probably begin to slow down.

Your vibrations probably began to slow because your first assumption was altered state. Notice how your vibration changed with your assumption changing. Your presupposition changed. You changed.

And now imagine your vibration increasing, speeding up.

Then I want you to notice the direction it's traveling. Does yours go around in circles? Does it go up and down? Does it go back and forth? Which way is it moving?

Now move faster. Expand it.

Now speed it up even faster. How do you feel once it's sped up? What's the difference between the feeling of your vibration going fast and your vibration going slow? What's the difference?

That difference is how you can begin to adjust yourself to the affluent individual you're dealing with in any given situation. You do this in order to come into rapport with them and bring them to where you want them to go.
