Nutritionists - What do they do?
With more and more people interested in improving their health, we speak to City of London based Nutritionist, Kenny Tranquille all about nutrition.
Firstly, how can a nutritionist help me improve my health?
A Nutritionist helps you focus on what you feed your body and the effects these foods have on you. Then the Nutritionist uses diet and lifestyle changes, together with nutritional supplementation, to address symptoms caused by biochemical imbalances and nutritional deficiencies.

Who can benefit from a session with a nutritionist?
Eating a well balanced range of healthy foods can be beneficial to everyone. To achieve optimum health, a Nutritionist enables you to take control and choose the best foods and supplements to suit your needs.

Nutritionists have been known to help with a number of health goals including:
• increasing energy levels
• boosting the immune system to stave off colds and flu
• improving levels of concentration and alertness
• increasing the ability to handle stress
Other commonly treated conditions include:
• Asthma
• Allergies & intolerances
• Depression
• Digestive problems
• Fatigue
• Stress
• IBS
• Infertility
• PMS
• Skin conditions
What does a session with a nutritionist involve?
During the initial consultation, you will fill in a questionnaire looking at a number of lifestyle factors such as levels of stress, exercise and current diet, as well as general health. Your Nutritionist will then help you identify the link between symptoms of sub-optimum health and specific nutritional deficiencies.

Recommendations generally include dietary changes, a vitamin and mineral supplement programme and lifestyle changes. Occasionally, diagnostic tests may be recommended.
A session normally lasts for approximately 60 minutes, with follow-up consultations as needed. In our UrBod clinics in the City of London and Canary Wharf, you will also receive a detailed nutritional programme, which sets out a number of recommendations for you to follow. The follow up sessions last for 60 minutes too and are all about supporting you in making those changes.
