Making Sense of Erythrophobia

There are a lot of phobias-both renowned and not so renowned-that a lot of people around the world suffer from. Erythrophobia, or the fear of blushing excessively, is one such fairly unknown phobia.

Erythrophobia is relatively a widespread fear. As a matter of fact, it is much more common than you can imagine. Most people on earth are inclined to blush due to many psychological and physical causes. Normally, people blush either due to a psychological sensitivity to the personal opinions that others have of you or due to an hyper nervous system.

Erythrophobia, or the fear of blushing excessively, begins due to a lack of self-confidence and is mostly prevalent in people who blush easily and who have a tendency to over-value other's assessment of oneself. Such people become very anxious about the way they look when they blush, rather than what caused it to begin with.

Folks suffering from Erythrophobia or the fear of blushing excessively are really ill at ease with the spontaneous colouring of their cheeks when they blush. They strive to fight against the colouring and totally stop it from happening.

In the same way as how a person suffering from too much acne becomes really distressed with what he or she looks like, someone who has Erythrophobia becomes obsessed about the colouring of their face. They become absolutely occupied with trying not to blush. They develop a completely unfounded fear of blushing excessively.

Unless you suffer from the irrational fear of blushing excessively, it may appear unfounded to you. But, it makes complete sense to people who have it. the irrational fear of blushing excessively influences all parts of their career and personal life, as well as the relationships that they have with their relatives and friends.

The phobia of blushing excessively may even lead to many different social phobias in addition to depression and anxiety. As a matter of fact, if the individual fails to get some assistance, the condition may worsen into depression, and it can even cause suicidal thoughts. However, only those who have experienced the same phobia can fully understand the problem. Most persons who do not experience excessive blushing continue to be ignorant of this problem. But, by not referring to a blush to someone who blushes frequently, you may actually, assist the individual consider it as natural.
