Knowing the causes of anxiety disorder is winning half the fight. Find out now.

By: Thomas Bronson

Quite a lot of us spend time worrying about something that happens in our lives but for many of us however, this period of worry will ultimately come to an end. Unfortunately this doesnt mean that everyone has a worry free life. There are people who spend almost their entire lives worrying and their worries are part of anxiety symptoms in a never ending cycle that can produce an anxiety disorder.

This cycle of endless worry and anxiety is known as a mental disorder as opposed to a physical disorder. Anxiety symptoms can manifest themselves both physically and psychologically. Anxiety disorders happen when our brain warns us about a perceived danger that is about to occur. In this situation your body will ready itself for a fight or flight reaction. Your heart, lungs and other parts of your body will work faster and produce stress hormones and adrenaline to cope with that time period.

The physical symptoms that accompany the anxiety disorder include fatigue, headache, dizziness, muscle ache and pains, feeling out of breath, nausea, difficulty swallowing, light headedness, chest pain, fast heartbeat, trembling, sweating and even frequent urination.

In addition to the physical conditions, anxiety disorder is diagnosed when the people become overwhelmingly irritated, anxious or unable to focus and perform the daily routine works. They may find difficulty in keeping the reality in check and become excessively self conscious with various issues and worry about them for days or weeks even before a dreaded situation arises or happens.

Emotionally, the people suffering from anxiety disorder can be so preoccupied with exaggerated concerns and worries over a variety of everyday problems even though there is little or nothing to provoke it. They perceive threats and are overly concerned about health issues, financial stress, family problems, potential misfortunes, impending deadlines and many other difficulties in life. It is, in their opinions, difficult or impossible to get rid of these concerns even though their anxiety is more intense than the situation warrants. To this extent, the heightened obsessions that elicit anxiety and distress can get uncontrollable that they may lose control and act upon such thoughts and impulses.

It is therefore imperative that you seek to diagnose the condition with your doctor should you experience anxiety and identified the symptoms described above to determine whether the situation that you are facing is a mental problem or a medical condition. If you have been diagnosed as having an anxiety disorder upon screening and consultation, then the condition must be attended and treated accordingly.

Although everyone experiences anxiety at any points in his or her life and from time to time, anxiety becomes a disorder when the symptoms and associated behaviours described above are persistent in the vicious cycle of exacerbated worries and so critical that they interfere with the persons life and stop him or her from performing their daily routines or normal activities. It is important to verify if an anxiety disorder condition is a mental disorder condition particularly where the prolonged fear, anxiety or worries are self-provoking in itself without presence of any events or elements that pose danger or threats to the persons mind.

Although you might suspect yourself to be suffering from anxiety symptoms its always a good idea to get your self-diagnosis confirmed by a qualified medical practitioner who can then start you on the proper course to cure you.
