Just Some Reviews on Insomnia

By: Lindelwa Maseko

The symptoms of sleep apnea are: suffering from excessive sleepiness during the day, having headaches in the morning, feeling irritable, being affected by mood changes, suffering from anxiety, being affected by depression, becoming forgetful, snoring loud and gasp for air, having restless sleep, having trouble to concentrate and even falling asleep during the day. Feelings of exhaustion, fatigue and an overwhelming desire to sleep during the day, known as excessive daytime sleepiness, characterize sleep apnea; especially if seen in conjunction with other symptoms such as morning headaches, noticeable lethargy, loss of interest in sex, forgetfulness and difficulty concentrating. Other symptoms of central sleep apnea include choking or gasping during sleep, unrefreshing sleep, morning headaches, daytime fatigue, personality changes, memory impairment, impaired concentration, poor judgment, mood disturbances, recent weight gain, polyurea, and impotence.

In many cases of asthma breathing difficulties are caused by inflammation of the tonsils resulting from the presence of leukotriene receptors and Dr Goldbart and his team noticed that these same leukotriene receptors were present in the tonsils of children with sleep apnea. In the worst cases of sleep apnea a mask may again be necessary, as part of a Bi-PAP machine (Bi-level positive airway pressure).

This type of sleep apnea seems more unlike many other natural herbal sleep aids, to gain the benefits of the effects of valerian it should be taken on a regular basis, with the full effects coming slowly and steadily over time. Of course, other relaxing effects of the heat bath contribute to a better night's sleep as well. And a hot bath has real physiological effects on the body that can help induce sleep.

On sleep deprivation

As the pressures of work or business building mount there is always a threat that sleep deprivation may affect performance and lead to a build up of stress. Perhaps an examination of the influence sleep deprivation has on our mental acuity and performance level can shed light on how we can protect ourselves and others from the disastrous consequences of sleep fatigue. To make matters worse, the effects of sleep deprivation can lessen the body's ability to process glucose efficiently leading to an increased tendency to put on weight.

Recent research on sleep deprivation has indicated that sleep deprivation shows the same hazardous effects as being in a drunken state. These cases cleared the biggest misconception about sleep, which was that sleep deprivation leads to insanity. But unless you go on a huge sleep deprivation marathon, you do not need to "catch up on sleep".

Sleep deprivation can have a variety of symptoms, including sleepiness during the day, fatigue, irritability, headaches, lack of concentration, weight gain, mood changes, and others. Sleep deprivation causes serious changes in body physiology and mental composure; lack of sleep may result in irritability, vision impairment, stuttering speech, momentary loss of reasoning, confusions, hallucination and nausea.

On the sleep disorder

A person with sleeping disorder has abnormal behaviors that are closely associated with sleep. The National Institute of Health simply defined sleep disorder as any difficulty concerning the sleeping habit of a person. And commonly triggered by upcoming events (such as important meetings or interviews), jet lag, or a passing illness (like a cold or the flu), a mild sleep disorder presents relatively little difficulty in terms of its management and, if left to its own devices, will often pass quite quickly.

Additionally, it is especially beneficial because all of these people share your problems, so they can not only relate to you, but they can potentially offer you advice. So do get down and find a solution to this problem.
