Do you have Bedroom Blues? If You've Got a Light Bulb, We Can Help You!

Fess up, everyone could use some advice in the bedroomhelp decorating of course. Besides, you spend about one third of your life in the bedroom, whether it be reading a magazine, watching a movie, taking a nap, or you know, romancing someone special. Inappropriate lighting in a room could directly have an affect on all of these activities. Improper light when reading will likely put strain on your eyes. Lighting that is too bright during a special evening will ruin the mood. Visit http://www.barnesandwagner.com/table-lamps.html or follow these basic lighting solutions, and you will be on your way to a much better bedroom experience no matter what you are doing.

Floor lamps add a perfect touch when you are looking to bring some needed illumination to an otherwise drab part of your bedroom. Because of the many types and styles to pick from, you will want to look at several such as Quoizel lamps before making the final choice. Remember that table lamps with a shade facing up, usually called torchiere or torch lamps, give off more ambient light as it is cast up and reflects off the ceiling. Lamps with a shade that faces down provide more task lighting and is a favorite close to a chaise or recliner. Be sure to get lamps that take three-way bulbs or has a dimmer switch to change the illumination to fit your needs.

Before, buffet lamps were considered exclusive for the buffet table. However today, we can throw the decorating guidelines out the door, because anything goes. You can intermingle your lighting and your furniture. These slim and tall lamps look great on a six drawer or mirrored dresser due to the fact that they do not take a lot of space yet give off enough light for the area. Buffet lights can also be placed on the console table or accent table that might be set in the corner of your bedroom. Be clever and don't forget to mix and match your lamps for a unique look.

The nightstands flanked on both sides of your bed are fundamental in any bedroom setting. And sitting on that nightstand, you will find a table lamp. With a large variety out there, be sure to think about lamps online, to add a touch of class in your bedroom. Table lamps that need three-way bulbs or have pull chains are excellent if you like to be able to control the amount of light easily. Keep in mind that for safety purposes, never exceed the recommended bulb wattage. But, of course, you could use fewer watts to help create a more romantic setting.

Wall lamps or wall sconces are commonly neglected as a light source for bedrooms. And that is a shame considering they can add a lot of appeal and character to the decor in your bedroom. Wall lamps are the perfect solution if you don't have enough room in a bedroom for a table lamp and nightstand. You just have them on the wall on either side of your bed for a dramatic source of light that doesn't take up a lot of room. They also look lovely on the wall over the light switch, when you immediately enter your bedroom or situated on each side of a mirrored dresser.

Ceiling lights are typically found in hallways and coat closets, but they look wonderful in the bedroom when placed above the bed. Be sure to analyze different kinds of ceiling lighting while looking for one because you'll be amazed at what you will be able to find to add to the decor of your room. For use over a bed, I would advise a semi-flush light fixture. These hang slightly below the ceiling, frequently with the use of a down rod, and it allows for easy access to the light bulbs, so it is easy to replace them. A dimmer switch is wonderful mainly when you want to create more ambient light in the room rather than complete illumination.
