How to Avoid Dating Agencies' Scam

By: Sandra Blue

The numbber of online dating agencies are growing so are the number of people who are not satisfied with the service(s) they were given. There are things that you should be aware of when signing up with online dating agencies and knowing these would enable you to make your experience with dating agencies a positive one.

Online dating agencies offer the opportunity for internet users to connect with other internet users who are looking for the same thing. This leaves the door open for a wide variety of problems.

One of the first things you will be asked to do when you sign up with a dating agency is to post some information to describe yourself - age, gender, physoical features, etc.. Since there is really no way to verify this information, many people may provide false information. So you really wouldn't know whether the personal info posted by other people is the real thing.

There are many complaints that users of online dating agencies have. One of the biggest complaints is actually choosing a fraudulent website. These types of website are very tricky and deceptive in their tactics. They often hook you in by enticing you with all sorts of interesting promises. Then they will ask for money for a variety of different things without actually providing you with any dates.

Often times they have great looking profiles set up on the pages for potential customers to look at. You think that it looks great so you pay to sign up. Once you have signed up you realize that you aren't using a dating service at all. Often times they will direct you to other websites that are scams or are simply marketing websites.

Billing is another common complaint that is made. Most website offer a free trial membership and people take advantage of this before actually subscribing to the service. However, there are cases when people are still charged for a membership even after the trial membership is over and they have already cancelled their membership. They are stuck paying the full membership fee even though they have decided not to use the service anymore.

To avoid exposing yourself to these risks, choose dating agencies that have a good reputation. These agencies have administrators that monitor the activity and behavior of their members. They also have professional people who are there to handle any complaints that you have. These agebcies also have strict rules which they enforce diligently and anybody who violates them cease to be a member. It is also important not to provide personal information such as home address and bank account details.

Signing up with dating agencies can be a very positive experience. Just take note of the simple points outlined above and you will be avoiding problems some people encountered.
