By: V.D Singpaul

It is an interesting problem before some people who know all the rules and benefits of healthy eating, balanced diet plans, but implementing a healthy eating plan is where they face the utmost challenge.

Two such things in general pose a problem while implementing a healthy eating plan.

Modern health marketing and hype made people to believe that healthy eating is all about a highly nutritious diet which is costly and a lot of food supplements which are even more costly. All they think is required is to consume the daily recommended dose of all the vitamins and minerals. For them these are the only necessary steps to reap the benefits of healthy eating habit.

Fact is healthy eating is not limited by an ideal diet and a lot of supplements. Your purpose should be to avoid deficiency of any nutrients in your body. And that can be ensured by a balanced diet. You may not be rich enough to afford all the supplements in the market to fulfill all the needs of vitamins and minerals by the body. But you can certainly be conscious to bring a balance in your diet which is more important. And there are much more concept to healthy eating which when practiced will ensure you a very good and disease free health.

The second type of problem is just the challenge to stick to a restrictive healthy eating. Some people know all the rules of good health but implementing such rules and bringing discipline is very hard for them. This is really a big challenge for most.

If you go by health rules, food is certainly not a toy to play with. Eating is a duty and is a responsibility towards out health. But at the same time eating brings tremendous pleasure for most of us. The need to take delicious foods is as important a need as like any other thing in our life. How can you ignore such a strong desire for delicious, mouth watering but health damaging foods?

So still knowing this, the choice of bringing discipline in our food habits is certainly difficult. Solution is adopting a restrictive healthy eating which is more like a compromise between ideal food habits and the damaging ones. In youth when you are full of vitality, you have the choice to say "I can eat everything and nothing really hurts me". But soon time will come when you will have to say "I can eat nothing, everything hurts me". So a few restriction in your food will allow you to even take junk foods occasionally at any point of your life.

So the only grand secret of a vibrant health is to learn to live within limitations. Our body has got a tremendous capacity of adaptation and toleration, but there is limit. The body starts striking back when you go beyond that limit. If you still ignore or suppress through medication, the body goes into pieces. This is what defines a restrictive healthy eating.
